Men I Never Knew

January 30th, 2013

Check out my new youtube video for the song, “Men I Never Knew.” I originally started writing this in 2008 when I was living in New York City. I finally decided to put it on my 2012 release, ‘Like a King’, because up until then, I never thought it was finished. I’m glad I waited, because it is one of the most beautiful songs on the album (thanks to Scott McCormick of Lee Avenue, on piano!!) What was true to me then, is still true now. “I could learn a thing or two and so could you, so could you.” It’s funny for me, to feel like I’ve changed from when I first started writing certain songs, but I can still listen back and be comforted and consoled by the things I wrote quite a while ago. Maybe when I’m 100, I’ll think back and say, “I had a pretty good idea what it was about, even then.”
